    About

Children of the Seams is a group of young designers, artists, builders, ponderers, creators, collectors, progressive thinkers, and admirers of all things fascinating, amusing, one of a kind, recreated, and revolutionary. It was founded by a group of creative youth in Nelson, BC.

We decided to come together and use our creativity for a cause as we save materials from the landfill and create beautiful one of a kind wearable art! We create art out of unexpected, redesigned, and reclaimed materials. With all of the mass produced and industrially manufactured "stuff" in the world, there is so much waste left over. We might as well turn this into something beautiful and sustainable, while we work together and and draw inspiration from each other in a creative atmosphere.

For the future, the Children of the Seams would like to continue with this momentum that was built up though the immense success of the Upcycled fashion show. We would like to expand the project into an ongoing collective blog that any youth artist can contribute to! Our hopes are that this blog will become a source of inspiration and ideas for any artist or designer, as well as a place to show off creations that you are proud of. To get the ball rolling, we ask all artists to contribute any quirky and wonderful creations! We welcome contributions with open arms.
